To recognize an Asian American or non-Asian who personifies a true friend of Asian Americans through personal involvement in and support of activities enhancing and promoting the positive image of Asian Americans. Judged for involvement in and support of activities that enhance and promote cultural diversity in the community; active participation or engagement in civic projects and volunteer work; and promotion of cultural awareness through the arts and / or other educational programs.

To recognize and honor a corporation or group that continues to direct, mentor, improve and advance Asian American interests in cultural, educational, governmental and business communities. Judged for financial support of diversity programs in the community, and for activities that advance Asian American interests, participation in civic and cultural projects of the community that promote and enhance the positive image of Asian Americans, and engagement in cultural awareness projects and sponsorship of varied educational programs in the community at large for the benefit of Asian Americans.

To recognize and honor an individual who is focused on promoting an increased awareness and appreciation for cultural diversity and who has successfully implemented programs and activities to advance this cause in its organization’s objectives. Judged for national leadership, local leadership, and honors and awards received for community service.

Judged for continued financial support of cultural awareness and diversity programs especially those that improve and enhance the positive image of Asian Americans; advocacy of corporate policies that provide a supportive environment for minority and ethnic employees encouraging them to celebrate their diversity through company-sponsored group activities; assumption of leadership roles in non-company related Asian community affairs and projects; and sponsorships and support of scholarships and other such educational programs for Asian American youths, which support and inspire them to excel.
